From porter’s son to expedition leader
Summit Seekers Adventure began in 2011 with one jeep, two tents and a promise: that the people of Baltistan and Hunza — who have carried loads for foreign expeditions for a century — would finally run the show themselves.
Our founder Ali Hussain grew up in Hushe village, beneath Masherbrum, watching his father porter for K2 expeditions. Today our company employs over 60 local guides, cooks and drivers in high season, pays porters above the recommended wage, insures every crew member, and sends a fixed share of every booking to village school funds in Hushe and Shimshal.
We are licensed by the Department of Tourism Gilgit-Baltistan, members of the Pakistan Association of Tour Operators, and — more importantly — we are the people other operators call when things get complicated up high.
